CHALLENGE

Like any lean manufacturer, Detroit Chassis is always seeking new ways to improve operational efficiencies. Although Detroit Chassis has relied on its QAD 2007 SE ERP system for many years, its reporting capabilities were coming up short, requiring staff to run QAD’s standard reports, then entering the data into Excel to enable a satisfactory reporting format for management.

SOLUTION

Detroit Chassis partnered with Strategic Information Group to assist in the implementation of Phocas Analytics which delivers multiple layers of reporting, KPI tracking, ad hoc business intelligence, and do it yourself administration. The addition of Strategic’s Phocas Adaptor ensures timely synchronization between QAD and Phocas, enabling the Detroit Chassis team to readily deliver monthly reports in the formats required by management.

RESULT

Strategic only needed a few weeks to complete the implementation, and after a few hours of training time, the Detroit Chassis team was off and running with the solution. The time and costs savings to the Detroit Chassis team are impressive: 60 hour per month time savings—saving the company about $40,000 in labor costs annually.
