Santa Barbara, CA — January 8, 2008 — Strategic Information Group (Strategic) announces that last week the largest dental alloy manufacturer in the U.S. successfully upgraded from QADs Enterprise Applications version eB2.1 to the latest version QAD 2007.1 and implemented quote to cash functionality as well as QADs Sales and Marketing Automation.

The company is the largest manufacturer of precious metal alloys for the dental industry in the United States, and the second largest in the world. They currently process over 750 orders a day, all with same day shipping. Precious metal is a commodity which causes prices and costs to change daily based on market fluctuations.

Major business benefits brought by the project included the eliminated of integration to the legacy system for order entry and shipping. The new QAD environment provides a single system for future growth and ease of consolidation for management reporting. Extensive use of the .NET user interface significantly reduced the need for custom reports and inquiries and is used to improve efficiencies entering and retrieving data in the system. Integration to bar-coding for shipping workbench was a key point of automation.

Strategic had previously implemented QAD version eB2 at the account where integrated weigh scale technology was developed to track and account for every pennyweight of precious metal inventory. Under the leadership of Strategic Project Management the entire project lasted a total of one year and came in on-time and on-budget.
